The Sea of Paperwork Exhibition @ the CCA

We’re pleased to announce that an Exhibition of The Sea of Paperwork children’s book launched during Refugee Festival Scotland 2019 will be on display at the CCA from Tuesday 12th to Sunday 17th November, with a preview of the Exhibition taking place on Monday 11th November from 6 – 8pm.

Co-curated with Artist Iman Tajik, the exhibition will present the original artwork created by young people through workshops and the process of illustration by Artist Garry Mac that was brought together to create the book in a space where you can experience movement/welcoming. The exhibition launch will also bring together the young people who were involved with the project from all the schools we worked with.

In addition there will be two talks as part of the exhibition:
Discussion with the Workshop Facilitators, Fri 15 Nov, 6pm-8pm, Free but ticketed / All ages

Refugee Festival Scotland 2019

MIN are taking part in a number of events during Refugee Festival Scotland again this year, for more information on all the events taking place over the Festival check out the Refugee Festival Scotland website or to find out more and sign up to our individual events visit our Events page on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sisters in Song

MIN’s Joyous Choir were the subject of this wonderful video made by students from the 2019 Documentary Production Course at the University of Stirling. We think the video gives great insight into the individual stories of members of the Choir and how being part of the Choir helps them to have a sense of belonging. You can catch the next Joyous Choir performance in Maryhill Park on Sunday 9th June at the Friends of Maryhill Park Summer Fair.

Moving Minds XI

MIN’s Joyous Choir and the Colours of Life International Dancers will be performing once more at this year’s Moving Minds event at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Saturday 25th May 2019. Join us at the event for our performances and stalls including henna painting, hand massage and knitting with the Knit for Unity: Across the Globe group from 11am.
