MIN is delighted to be involved in this exciting new creative writing project with our partners Migrant Voice, see below for details.
The group have had an amazing year taking part in a women only project in partnership with the Refugee Survival Trust, Media Co-op and Pilton Community Health Project.
The project ‘Making it Home’ saw women from mIN’s group and Pilton’s Women Surviving Women group in Edinburgh taking part in poetry discussion workshops based on 5 poems around the theme of home and also taking part in a film making project. Members had a chance to either work in front of or behind the camera and were taken through the film making process step by step under the careful guidance of Media Co-op.
The films produced were then launched during Refugee Week at the Tron Theatre and screened at various venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh. They also featured at a special event at the Scottish Parliament.
The films can be seen on the Making it Home website at http://makingithome.net/
The group are currently taking a well earned break after their hard work and will return next year with a new project.
