MIN Closed for Easter Weekend 2017

MIN’s Office will be closed over the Easter Weekend on Friday 14th April 2017 and Monday 17th April. All activities will also be off on those days. The Office will re-open at 10am Tuesday 18th April and all activities and classes that stopped for the Spring Break will resume as detailed in the Weekly Programme.

MIN’s Director inducted into Saltire Society’s Outstanding Women of Scotland

MIN is delighted to report that our Director, Remzije Sherifi, has been honoured and inducted into the Saltire Society’s “Outstanding Women of Scotland” with 9 other women from the arts, culture, politics, activism and science this year.  From the GWL website: “Created in partnership with Glasgow Women’s Library, the ‘Outstanding Women of Scotland’ community aims to recognise and celebrate remarkable Scottish women from all walks of life who have made an outstanding contribution to Scottish society.”

To mark the occasion each inductee was presented with a limited edition print from Edinburgh-based print maker Jessica Crisp at a special event at Glasgow Women’s Library on 7th March 2017 . Previous inductees include First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, J.K. Rowling and Annie Lennox.


MIN’s Development Worker wins Travelling Fellowship

MIN is delighted to report that our Development Worker, Rose Filippi, has been awarded one of 150 Travelling Fellowships from Winston Churchill Memorial Trust in 2017.

The fellowships allow professionals working in the UK to carry out a wide range of research and development projects, designed to benefit their communities and professions in the UK. Rose will be travelling to Berlin and Brussels to research different integration projects in these cities. She hopes to be able to share the learning widely on her return so please get in touch if you would like to be part of the network of contacts she is currently developing.

No ESOL classes over Spring Holidays 2017

ESOL classes at MIN are taking a break for the Spring Holidays in line with local schools and colleges.

ESOL classes with Glasgow Life on Wednesdays will return Wednesday 19th April and ESOL classes with Glasgow Clyde College on Mondays will return Monday 24th April .  For full details of class levels and times please see the programme of activities on our Weekly Programme page.

Joyous Choir Cancelled 27th March 2017

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the Joyous Choir has had to be cancelled tonight, Monday 27th March 2017. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to the Choir returning to sing next Monday at the usual time.
